Merry Christmas

Our first christmas has been a good but unusual one. We all find it strange that the skies are blue and the sun shines bright on christmas day. We celebrated this christmas by starting off with a swim in the sea at 7.o.clock in the morning. We have decided to make this a tradition, it was great fun and made the mad present opening last a bit longer.This time of year allthough filled with fun, brings the realization that the people you love are so far away. Time is a healer and I know this is the best place to be at this time of our lives.

I am looking for ward to the new year as we hope to see our house being built (finance pending) and many new adventures as we continue to explore this beautiful country.

Beauty spot

Yanchep Lagoon is fast turning into our favourite place to hang out. We love it. The girls love to snorkel and hunt for sea life while Matt and I lay back enjoying the beauty that surrounds us. Alfie is not sure of the water and doesnt like to play in it very much. I dont think he will be the next surf champion, but he loves to dig and bury his feet in the sand.

happy 8th birthday

Annie was so excited about her birthday and Baptism. The whole weekend was full of fun excitement, tension, and emotion.

We love you annie and are proud of you.

Baptism

land or no land

The land mentioned earlier in my blog is now a no go. After careful consideration we decided that living next to a train track would not be good.
We have put a deposit on land and a house in a different area so things are moving along nicely.The place is called Delamare park and is a private estate so we are hoping it will be a good investment for the future.It is about 10-15 mins away from the beach, at the minute we can get to a beach in 5 mins, however our favourite beach is about 15 mins away.
I am enjoying all the lovely sunshine that the begginning of summer is bringing, it is so nice to wake up and have blue skies and sun it makes me feel good inside.
I have also joined a netball team. We lost 14-4 [I scored one of our 4] but I had a great time, i felt like I was fourteen again!!!!!!!!

Alfie was so tired on the beach the other day he fell asleep on my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are we Sure

Well we have done something exciting, we have reserved a plot of land!!!!
we are feeling good about it, and allthough the land backs onto a rail track we feel this will be a good house to build and will get us onto the property ladder.

There is beauty all around

The weather here is just beautiful at the minute. We are starting to come out of the winter I think. If we have just been through winter it was the lovliest and shortest winter I have ever experienced.
Matt has found a lovely little beach which you have to get to by going along a dirt track with a 4x4. Matt me and Alfie spent part of the afternoon there yesterday, and I was blown away , it was amazing. The water was turquise the sand a soft yellow and where the water wet the sand the light bounced off like diamonds twinkling.
Thankful for my many blessings.

production time

The girls have been in a school production this week and they have loved it espicially Syd. I think we will look for a drama club for her as she loves to perform!!!!

Annie is becoming the queen of the monkey bars. She swings on them with no effort.The kids love to stay after school and just play on the school equipment for ages.

And Alfie!!!! He is saying his new favourite word over and over SPIDER SPIDER SPIDER. So today I bought him some spiderman under wear he looks so cute in it.

Catch up

A few people have contacted us lately and told us to start a blog. We had done but I couldnt remember how to get on to it. Well ta da!! I have made it. I am chuffed with myself.

Life is going well here in Aussie land. I am loving it I am making new friends and enjoying the laid back approach to life for me and the kids.

Matt is working hard the shifts here are harder, and he seems to be away from home more than I expected, but he has more days off which we try to chill out and go the all the local parks and beaches. However Matt has put surfing on hold for a while as he is trying to rest his broken toe.

Wiltshires down under

Well the adventure is well and truly running.
The girls are settling into school , Matt is learning to surf and I am enjoying this lovely aussie winter.

Flight booked but not for all

Matt is leaving the UK on Monday the 10th of March 2008. He will arrive in Aus on Tuesday the 11th and starts in the academy on the 19th.

Maria and the kids will remain in the Uk until the house completes or the visa expires. But hopes that it will be less than a couple of months.
